Walking
On October 7, 2015, the school participated in Maryland Walk Day. Every student went outside and walked for at least 10 minutes. The students were also encouraged to walk or ride their bike to school on this date.
Every spring, a group of 10-15 students and staff participate in the March of Dimes Walk at Assateague State Park. The students participate in an after school group once a week. During that time they fundraise for March of Dimes and also walk throughout the town of Snow Hill for exercise.

Integrated Health Units
The fourth, fifth and sixth grade students all participate in an Integrated Health Literacy Program (IHLP) during the course of the school year. Each year the students cover a variety of topics related to a healthy lifestyle. In fourth grade, the students study decision making, responding to an emergency, healthy food choices, illnesses and disease. In fifth grade, the students study extreme weather, nutrition, anxiety and injury prevention. Finally, in sixth grade the students study drug awareness, injury prevention, nutrition and media, and internet safety. After each lesson, the students create some type of product to share what they learned. The development of these units is ongoing and will be implemented in seventh and eighth grade over the next two years.
