Stream Restoration & Forest Revitalization (SRFR)
Since school year 2013-2014, the eighth grade service learning project has been based on planting indigenous trees to help restore a local critical stream, Five Mile Branch, to its original state. The students have planted and maintained almost 500 trees in that time period! In addition to the actual planting, the students learn the geography of the local watershed, the land use, the pollution issues, and the best practices to reduce pollution.

Rain Barrel Maintenance
There are several rain barrels on the school property that were placed several years ago. The 8th grade students realized that they were in need of maintenance. Several students cleaned and repaired the rain barrels so that they are functioning properly.
Water is for Everyone Art Show
Sixth and seventh grade students participated in an art show at the Ward Museum during Winter 2016. Since the theme was "Water is for Everyone" art teacher Deb Passalacqua included lessons to reinforce the importance of water and water conservation. The pieces of artwork were then displayed at the Ward Museum in Salisbury.
